HOUMA, LA (WVUE) - Child safety seats will be given away for free to parents/caregivers who qualify.

The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task force, University Medical Center in New Orleans and the Louisiana State Police have partnered with Kergan Brothers Sonic for the giveaway.
The event takes place September 23 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the JCPenney parking lot of the Southland Mall in Houma.
This is a first come first-served basis. So people are urged to apply soon.
Kergan Brothers Sonic is a family business that owns 56 Sonic restaurants in the central and southern part of Louisiana.
