Mandeville shocks St. Paul's and hand Covington district title

(WVUE) - Mandeville celebrated 2017 senior night in style as the Skippers upset St. Paul's, 28-14, thanks to three touchdowns from Taron Jones and three interceptions from the defense.

Skippers coach Josh Buelle said after the game "We told them that this may be your last home game and like I said, they had a great week of practice. They did everything we asked them to do. Some guys play both ways, offense defense, special teams. I'm just so proud of them, the atmosphere was great, the stands were great. What a great program win."

St. Paul's loss, paired with Covington's 32-14 victory over Hammond means the Lions are District 6-5A champions. They'll put their 9-0 record on the line in their season finale against Mandeville.
