(WVUE) - Chilly conditions once again for the day with plenty of sunshine. Just the kind of crisp cool weather you expect as we head deeper into fall and it plays perfectly into Halloween as we will see a gradual warm up over the next couple of days taking us from a slight chill to perfect conditions on Tuesday.
Sunday will remain chilly after starting out with mid-30s across the north shore and some of the usual suspects like Belle Chasse coming in at 37 and Galliano getting down to 39. Plenty of sunshine and dry air lead to highs that top out in the 60s for the afternoon. The overnight lows into Monday should be just a bit higher than Sunday morning as the center of the high shifts east. Sunny weather will prevail into the middle of the week. Clouds will be on the increase along with temperatures and humidity after Wednesday. A few showers return to the forecast late in the week.
We are feeling the chill, but the tropics are not done just yet. Tropical Storm Philippe formed Saturday afternoon. The storm dumped rain across Cuba and south Florida and is moving rapidly northeast. It will be absorbed into the strong cold front continuing to push across the southeast towards the Atlantic.
