(WVUE) - During his time as Pelicans head coach, Alvin Gentry has never experienced having a winning record. And following Monday night's 115-99 loss to Orlando, that streak remains alive and well.
The Pelicans (3-4), fresh off an impressive Saturday night win against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, didn't bring the same focus against a young Magic team. If anything, the Pels reverted back to their old ways of turning the ball over too many times. Gentry's team had twenty give-aways, which Orlando turned into 25-points.
Anthony Davis did his part with a game high 39-points, 10-rebounds and three blocks. But, he didn't get much help. DeMarcus Cousins, the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week, struggled getting points. He finished with just twelve to go along with twelve rebounds.
The Pelicans home stand continues Wednesday when they face Minnesota. The begin a four-game road trip Friday night in Dallas.
