Woman killed in Algiers identified

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 300 block of LeBoeuf Street.

At around 7:17 p.m., Fourth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting in Algiers.

When officers arrived they found Carol Ross, 55, suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital by EMS where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.
