NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A woman claims a lipstick sample at a Sephora store gave her oral herpes.

According to TMZ, the woman's lawsuit accuses the beauty retailer of causing her emotional distress. She says she contracted what she calls an "incurable lifelong affliction" during a trip to a California Sephora store in 2015. She also says Sephora employees failed to warn customers of health risks associated with using samples.

A Sephora spokesperson says it's not company policy to comment on litigation. The spokesperson insists the health and safety of clients is its foremost priority.
