3 shot, one killed in violent morning in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Three people were shot in New Orleans Wednesday morning, one of those shootings being fatal.

Seventh District officers responded to a call of a homicide around 2:13 a.m. in the 6800 block of Cindy Place.

When they arrived, the found Eddie Celestine, 31, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds outside the residence.

Celestine was pronounced dead on scene.

Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person responsible in this incident, as well as a motive.

The scene of the homicide was in New Orleans East, across the street from where Officer Marcus McNeil was killed three weeks ago.

Less than a half hour earlier NOPD was investigating a different shooting.

The shooting was reported near Dhemecourt Street and South Jefferson Davis Boulevard.

Two men were shot, one in the leg and the other in the stomach, according to NOPD.

Both men were taken to a hospital, but no further information has been released on the extent of their injuries.
