NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - New Orleans police released new images Thursday connected to a horrific hit-and-run that killed a 28-year-old tourist from Nebraska almost two years ago.
Joshua Woodruff was waiting for a ride near the corner of Decatur and Dumaine streets when he was hit by a dark car.
The car dragged his body more than six miles, across the river and onto the West Bank Expressway. Woodruff was discovered around 3:15 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2016.
The investigation was moved from the traffic division to the homicide division to give it a new fresh set of eyes, according to NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison.
The person of interest is described as a black male, who is 18-24 years of age. He has a thin build, a brown/light brown complexion, thin braids and a green wing tattoo outline on the left side of his neck.
Crimestoppers is offering a $15,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. You can call 504-822-1111.
