NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A dry, sunny weekend is ahead, but it will be very warm for this time of year! Expect areas of fog each morning as humidity remains high and temperatures fall into the 60s on both sides of the lake.
A dense fog advisory is in effect for the following areas until 10 a.m.:
- Hancock County
- Pear River County
- Tangipahoa Parish
- Terrebonne Parish
- Washington Parish
- Lafourche Parish
- St. Charles Parish
- St. James Parish
- St. Tammany Parish
Each afternoon, we'll see a good bit of sunshine with highs climbing into the mid-80s.
The "heatwave" continues into early next week with some near-record highs in the forecast.
Our air conditioners may finally get a break as a cold front should arrive toward the end of next week. More average high temperatures in the mid-70s look to arrive by Thursday.
