NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The biggest po'boy to ever be served in New Orleans was seen stretched across Royal Street Friday.

To celebrate National Sandwich Day, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Chisesi Brothers and Leidenheimer Baking Company created the longest po’boy in the history of New Orleans.

Event organizers said the sandwich measured 352 feet and 11 inches.

The block-long po’boy was in the 500 block of Royal Street in the French Quarter and attracted hundreds of hungry onlookers.

The entire po’boy was given away to the public beginning at noon, and it was gone within 15 minutes, according to event organizers.

After grabbing their po’boys, patrons entered the courtyard at The Historic New Orleans Collection for a free presentation on the history of New Orleans’ most beloved sandwich.
