NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

A dry, sunny weekend is ahead, but it will be very warm for this time of year! Expect areas of fog each morning as humidity remains high and temperatures fall into the 60s on both sides of the lake. Each afternoon, we'll see a good bit of sunshine with highs climbing into the mid 80s which are near record levels for this time of the year.

The heat wave continues into early next week with some near-record highs possible into Wednesday.

Our air conditioners may finally get a break as a cold front should arrive toward the end of next week. Temperatures will return to normal or even slightly below normal in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Little, if any rain is expected over the next seven days.

We have taken meat and potatoes to the next level with this dish. Sautéed pork chops are combined with creamy potatoes full of cheese, mushrooms and roasted red bell pepper strips to create a one-dish dinner that everyone will love. As an alternative, omit the cheese and have pork chops and scalloped potatoes instead.
