(WVUE) - Edna Karr and Warren Easton each entered Thursday night's showdown at Tad Gormley with unblemished district records and only one loss on the season but at the end of the outing, there was no question the superior team.
The Cougars jumped out to a 27-0 lead in the second quarter and cruised to a 40-6 victory proving that their title defense of Class 4A is a legitimate one. Skyler Perry led the purple-and-gold with four total touchdowns and the defense held Easton to their lowest output of the season.
After the game, coach Brice Brown cautioned his team about the road ahead "In the playoffs, we're going to expect good teams. 4A is a quality division and we're going to have to come to work every week. We're still young and we're still getting used to learning how to win so we're going to go back to the drawing board on Saturday and we'll enjoy this one for tonight though."
