The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a suspect wanted in the shooting death of a man on Lafaye Street Saturday.

Police say they are searching for 26-year-old Jabari Emile Williams.

Williams is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 4900 block of Lafaye St. around 7:30 p.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a male lying inside of a home with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators later developed Williams as a suspect in the shooting and detectives were able to obtain a warrant for his arrest.

Police say Williams was last seen fleeing the scene in an unknown year grey Ford 500 car.

If anyone has any information about the shooting or the whereabouts of Jabari Emile Williams, they are asked to contact NOPD Homicide Detective Debra Normand at (504) 658-5300 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
