VIDEO: Man steals car from good Samaritans at ice cream shop

New Orleans police need the public’s help finding a man who appears to steal a car after finding its keys in an ice cream shop.

On Friday, the subject entered an ice cream shop in the 2600 block of Saint Claude Ave. where he found the victim’s keys and jacket on a table.

The subject then stole those items and used the keys to steal the victim’s car, a Nissan Altima, which was parked nearby.

The man appears to drop his bag when he walks into the store. Several people come help him gather his belongings. Afterwards, he finds a jacket on a table.

He leaves the story and goes through the pockets, allegedly finding the keys to the car.

The subject is tall with a thin build. At the time of the incident, the subject had a goatee or similar facial hair.
