KENNER, LA (WVUE) -

Kenner police have arrested two additional individuals in a fatal shooting that took place at a sweet 16 birthday party. The shooting occurred Saturday night near the intersection of 6th and Compromise Streets.

According to police a 14-year-old male from Metairie and 41-year-old Phaedra Robinson of Kenner were taken into custody. Robinson has been identified as the mother of 17-year-old Renee Holloway who was taken into custody Sunday.

Police say that after the shooting, Holloway returned home and told Robinson that he fired a gun at a rival group outside the party. Robinson then took the gun and hid it in a laundry basket inside her bedroom. When questioned by detectives on Sunday, she told police “that without a gun you can’t charge him, (meaning her son).” When they searched, detectives found bullets and gun magazines inside a laundry basket in Robinson's bedroom. Police were not able to locate the weapon. The type of ammunition recovered from the scene was the same type found in one of the magazines, according to police.

Robinson was charged with accessory after the fact to second degree murder in addition to two JPSO attachments for theft of goods and three separate traffic attachments. No bond has been set.

The 14-year-old was brought to the Rivarde Juvenile Detention Center where he awaits a continued custody hearing.
