(WVUE) -

The same eight schools made our Big 8 rankings, but there was a reshuffle after Karr dominated Warren Easton last week.

1. John Curtis (9-1)

The Patriots are unstoppable it appears. Looks like they're on a collision course with Evangel in the Division I state title game.

2. De La Salle (9-0)

For the second year in a row De La Salle finished the regular season undefeated. The Cavaliers have yet to win a state title in football. This could be the year in my mind.

3. Covington (10-0)

Lions went undefeated in the regular season for the first time in 29 years. They start 10 seniors on the offensive side of the ball. Covington has all the tools to get to the Dome.

4. Karr (9-1)

Cougars dropped the shocker of last week. I knew they could beat Easton, but embarassing the Eagles I didn't see happening. Karr is primed for back-to-back state titles.

5. Lakeshore (10-0)

Titans off to their best start in school history. Senior-heavy offense helps light the scoreboard up each week.

6. Hahnville (8-2)

It's playoff time, which means "Pooka time." The big stars shine in the big games, and I expect Pooka Williams to rise to the occasion.

7. Easton (8-2)

I still think the Eagles are a good team. but it seems no match for Karr in Class 4A.

8. Landry-Walker (7-3)

Forget the 0-3 start. LW will be a serious contender for the Dome in December.
