ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) -

The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy issued a filming notice for residents in Algiers Thursday.

According to the notice, a production company will film scenes on the 400 block of Ptolemy Street between the hours of 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.

The sequence that is being filmed will include simulated special effects and gunfire.

Law enforcement officers will be on site to ensure public safety and to help facilitate the work, according to the notice.

Film New Orleans, within the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Economy, assists productions with the City’s permitting process, connects productions with local crew and resources, and facilitates communication between productions and the local community.

In 2016, New Orleans hosted 50 film tax credit projects such as TV, films, and commercials with budgets over $300,000. Direct spending of  those projects roughly totaled $423 million.
