State Police investigating officer involved shooting in Gibson

GIBSON, LA (WVUE) -

Louisiana State Police say they have been called to investigate an officer-involved shooting in Gibson.

State Police say the incident happened Friday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.

According to investigators, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home on Fandall Street regarding a domestic dispute. When the deputies arrived at the home, they learned the suspect was armed and had barricaded himself inside of the home.

Investigators say at some time during the incident, the suspect was shot by the deputies. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

No Terrebonne Sheriff’s Deputies were injured in the shooting.

State Police say the shooting remains under investigation.
