NOPD: Woman pulls stun gun on man attempting to steal her purse

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

New Orleans police are searching for a man who they say attempted to snatch a purse from a woman but was scared away after she pulled a stun gun on him. 

The attempted simple robbery occurred Friday around 5:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of Dumaine Street. 

According to police, the suspect, approached the woman from behind and tried to pull her bag from her shoulder. The woman pulled a stun gun from her pocket, scaring the man away. 

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 40's with a thin build. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
