NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Saints' seven-game winning streak has fans dreaming of extra football at the end of the season, even if some aren't ready to talk about playoffs.
"Now you're seven in a row winning. Don't get too high, because you've got LA coming up. That's gonna be a tough game. They have to finish the season. It's gonna be a long way up as Jim Mora used to say, 'Playoffs! Playoffs!'" said Saints fan Eddie Soll.
Fans aren't letting any potential of playoffs stop them from supporting their favorite players, so much so that The Black and Gold Sports Shop has seen fans buying more jerseys than just the ones with number nine on it.
"We didn't have a good season last year, so it was only Drew selling jerseys, but this year it's a whole different ballgame. We're selling a lot more players besides Drew, we've got Thomas that's selling, Jordan, Kamara, people asking for Lattimore, and he's coming in, Ingram. So we're selling a lot more of a variety of players, it's kind of like Super Bowl year, we could sell any player we put up there," said Pam Randazza, who runs Black and Gold Sports Shop.
Fans think, with a dominant running game and a quarterback that's destined for the Hall of Fame, talking about the playoffs may not be a bad idea.
"We've got an aging great quarterback. People like to criticize him, and he's sitting back directing traffic. It's a new world," said fan Wayne Leblanc.
