Rajon Rondo's first start with the Pelicans saw the home team jump out to a 30-14 lead in the first quarter. But a minutes restriction on the point guard, mixed with foul trouble for Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, spelled a three-quarter collapse to the visiting Raptors. The Pels (8-7) dropped their homestand finale 125-116.

Toronto began chipping away at the lead before the first period ended and led by halftime. Their lead grew to as much as 17 in the fourth quarter as the trio of DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas each tallied over 20 points. Davis finished with just 19 points in 34 minutes played, thanks to 5 fouls. Cousins matched that foul total but managed to score 25 in just 30 minutes of action. Rondo's rehabilitation from a core muscle injury limited the 31-year-old to 4 points and 8 assists in 14 minutes.

Alvin Gentry's team is back in action Friday in Denver for a 9:30 p.m. tip, Central time.

Here’s my best guess on how things shake out. Round One (27th) Mike Gesicki, Tight End Penn St. First things first, I really wanted cornerback Josh Jackson with this selection. I just don’t think he is going to be around at 27. If he is available, then the Saints sh...more>>
