Sex offender charged after sending explicit photos to juvenile

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Kenner police have arrested and charged a sex offender who they say sent inappropriate photos of his privates to a juvenile.

On Monday Kenner police arrested David Andrews, 57, of 2621 Jasper Street, in Kenner, and charged him with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile.

Andrews is a registered sex offender who pleaded guilty to sexual battery of a juvenile in 2010, according to Kenner police.

The grandfather of the 13-year-old female juvenile reported to Kenner police that Andrews sent the photographs to the victim's cell phone.

Andrews was interviewed by Kenner Police Detective Peter Foltz, and admitted sending the images to the victim, claiming it was in error.

Police say Andrews is a tier two sex offender and required to register for 25 years. He remains in custody, and his bond was set at $40,000.00.

Kenner Police Chief Michael J. Glaser urges anyone with information concerning David Andrews to call Kenner Police Detective Peter Foltz at (504) 712-2253 or Crimestoppers at (504) 822-1111.
