On this edition of FFF we delve into Tom Brady and Drew Brees playing into their mid-40's, Italy missing the World Cup for the first time in 60 years, and how is Shaya Restaurant doing after the John Besh fallout.

FOOTBALL

On more than one occasion Brees and Brady openly talked about playing in the NFL until 45. Brees I might add, usually has a smile on his face when the question comes up.

It appears Brady will get his wish in New England with the trade of Jimmy  Garoppolo to the Niners. Brady is 40 right now, and will make 41 right before the start of the 2018 season. With his quick release, and no true backup for the Patriots, I see it happening.

Brees  makes 39 in January. In the past I carried my doubts Brees can do it, but after watching this rushing attack, I say yes he can.

With Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara in the backfield, that equals less hits to No. 9. The Saints rushed for 298 yards against the Bills, the most for the Black and Gold since 1986. The six rushing touchdowns against Buffalo, a new record for the franchise.

Ingram leads the NFL in rushing yards and touchdowns. Kamara owns the highest yards per carry in the NFL.

Why do I give you all these numbers? Because both of these backs are young, with a lot of tread on the tire. Brees can count on these guys for years to come. Well, that's if he chooses to stay in the Black and Gold. Brees was asked Wednesday by a San Diego TV station about his future.

“I told them I’m staying in the moment and I’m just worried about this season and what we can do this season and all of that stuff will take care of itself.”

FÚTBOL

It's been over a  month, and I still can't get past the fact U.S.A will not be in the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Next summer will not be as enjoyable as I first planned.

This week, I finally felt a little better about the Stars and Stripes plight. That's because Italy failed to qualify as well. It's the first time since 1958!!!!! The country considers the failure a national disaster. When you're a four-time champion, that's understandable.

FOOD

If you want a true gauge of how a restaurant is performing go to the apps Open Table and Resy. If you can't get a reservation between 6-9 p.m. at a certain spot on either of the apps, then the eatery is doing well.

One of the restaurants that's impossible to get in at those times is Shaya Restaurant. But with Alon getting run out of his own spot by John Besh, and Besh's own personal problems, you would think Shaya would underperform now. Well you would be wrong.

Resy goes all the way to next Saturday, November 25th, and no reservations are available between 6-9 p.m. Very intrigued to see if this trend continues.

As if there was any doubt who our No. 1 player on the countdown would be. Drew Brees may be 39, but he's still the straw that stirs the drink for the New Orleans Saints. The best to ever don the Black and Gold, signed a two-year contract this offseason with the club. Extending his career just a couple of more seasons. 2018 could be historic year for Brees. He sits just 1,495 yards away from passing Peyton Manning on the NFL all-time leading passer list. The team he leads, is also a...more>>
