Tulane scored a big upset at home on Senior Day, Saturday, beating Houston 20-17. The Cougars went into the contest with a 6-3 record, and were 10-point favorites.

None of those numbers mattered to the Wave. The win keeps Tulane's (5-6) bowl hopes alive. They need to beat SMU in Dallas next week to be bowl eligible.

Tulane trailed in the fourth quarter 17-13, but  quarterback Jonathan Banks had an answer to the deficit. The junior found Belle Chasse native Terren Encalade for a 64-yard touchdown reception. Encalade racked up eight receptions for 186 yards.
