Vigil held for mom gunned down in St. Claude

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

Family and friends gathered Monday night to remember a mother who was gunned down in front of her home.

Family members identify the victim as 31-year-old Jade Gibson.

An amber alert was issued for her 7-year-old son after her murder, but he was later found safe at a neighbor's house.

Police say she was shot multiple times outside of her house North Prieur Street in the St.Claude neighborhood late Sunday night.

A vigil was held there Monday night to remember Gibson's life. She was a mother to 3 children.

Her mother, Mendez Saulsbury, says her daughter will be missed.

"She's just that girl that smile is contagious, she was just the life of the party, she loved people," said Saulsbury.

Police do not have a motive or any suspects in the case yet. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers.
