NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

If Tulane wants to go "bowling," they need a win Saturday at Southern Methodist. The Wave need six wins for a bowl berth, they currently possess a 5-6 record.

It's no doubt a tall task to beat the Mustangs in Dallas. SMU is a 10-point favorite, and their offense averages 40 points a contest.

The last time Tulane participated in the postseason, the 2013 New Orleans Bowl. The Green Wave are fired up for the matchup with SMU.

"Oh I think it's huge for our guys. It's a goal we've had throughout the year. It's going to be one of our goals every single year. There's still a lot to accomplish. We're trending in the right direction. That would certainly be a positive step forward," said Tulane Head Coach Willie Fritz.
