Victim in 7th Ward homicide identified

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide that claimed the life of a man in the 7th Ward last week.

Fifth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at around 11:55 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the 2300 block of St. Anthony Street.

According to NOPD, officers found Frank Ross, 46, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to NOPD.

Police say there is no suspect or motive at this time. 

No further information is available at this time.

The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will determine official cause of death and release the victim's name, upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
