NOPD searching for runaway teen connected to aggravated assault

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The New Orleans Police Department is searching for a 15-year-old reported as a runaway.

Mahliyah Shipman was last seen on Monday at about 1:30 a.m. 

She fled from her residence in the 7500 block of Vincent Road and entered her boyfriend’s vehicle, described as a newer model gray Ford Taurus, according to the report.

Shipman is described as a black female standing 4’3” and weighing about 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray shorts.

This incident also involved a reported aggravated assault, as the front seat passenger in the vehicle reportedly brandished a silver handgun.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mahliyah Shipman is asked to contact Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070.
