NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - We'll see a warm start to the week, but it won't last long!
Highs will reach the mid to upper 70s today and tomorrow under mostly cloudy skies.
A stray shower is possible today, but rain chances will go up Tuesday as a cold front approaches the area.
Some rain could be heavy Tuesday evening.
Colder air will arrive by Wednesday with highs struggling to get into the low 50s.
Unfortunately, we won't see the skies clearing behind the front, and light rain and cloudy skies will stick around through Thursday. Cold, breezy conditions are expected as well.
Finally, just in time for the weekend, the sun will return! We can still expect northerly winds and chilly air, though.
In fact, with the clearer skies, overnight temperatures may reach freezing north of the lake over the weekend.
