Hearing to recuse judges in LaToya Cantrell probe set for Friday

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A judge at Orleans Parish Criminal District Court set a Friday court date to hear arguments over removing all of the court's judges from the probe into Mayor-elect LaToya Cantrell's credit card use as a councilwoman.

In the motion, he noted that even the judge who signed the subpoenas for Cantrell recused herself afterward.

He also pointed out that the elected magistrate commissioner, Harry Cantrell, is the mayor-elect's father-in-law.

He asked for the court to recuse itself to avoid any appearance of bias or impartiality.

Judge Laurie White will preside over this part of the case.
