Man seen on video opening fire in 7th Ward surrenders to police

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - Police say he was the man caught on camera Nov. 29 opening fire and hitting a victim in the Seventh Ward. Today, he is under arrest.

Telly Cook, 18, faces aggravated battery in the shooting that happened just after noon in the 2000 block of Rocheblave Street. In the incident, a person believed to be Cook can be seen on video surveillance jumping out of a green Honda and shooting a man in the leg.

After the video was widely circulated, police said Cook surrendered today at the Seventh District station in New Orleans East.
