NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - A major cold front moves in this afternoon bringing a good chance rain and maybe a few storms. Ahead of the front temperatures may briefly reach 80 degrees, but will drop sharply by evening into the 50s.
The coldest air of the season arrives for the rest of the week. Lots of clouds and occasional spots of light rain will move across the area Wednesday and Thursday. A blustery north wind means temperatures staying in the 40s for the most part.
Some rain is possible Friday morning, but clearing late in the day. Reinforcing cold air for the weekend will keep temperatures below normal. Freezing temperatures are likely north and west of the lake this weekend.
