(WVUE) -

It’s the game week no NFL player looks forward to. The Saints will travel to Atlanta to face the Falcons on Thursday night, and the players say getting their bodies ready on such short rest is a major challenge.

"It's six days of preparation into three days so today was like a Wednesday, Thursday and tomorrow is like a Friday, Saturday," said quarterback Drew Brees. "Then you go play on Sunday which is Thursday so its just all condensed. The game plan, the install and what you're trying to do to take care of your body as well. So, its a great sense of urgency and great time management."

"When you talk about being ready for a Thursday game, it's more than just physical it's that mental aspect," said defensive end Cam Jordan. "Not only have a short term memory of the last game win or loss but having that ability to take in a whole game plan in two days."

Of course the trade off to the short week is a long recovery. This weekend will essentially be a mini-bye before prepping for the Jets next Sunday.

I usually leave a Saints game with an overall theme or feeling about what I just observed on the field. It typically jumps out at me right away and this column is written. But after Sunday I was left with kind of a blah emotion. Their effort against the Jets was kind of weird. It certainly wasn’t an overly impressive victory to celebrate, but nonetheless, a win in the NFL by double digits is nothing they have to apologize for. Dodging a bullet may be the more accurate descript...

Welcome in to Juan's World and as you know, this blog that I do is strictly an opinion piece with a few facts sprinkled in here and there. So, with that in mind, I'm under the opinion that the Saints should've been 'expected' to look past the Jets to next weeks rematch with the Falcons. How could they not look ahead to Atlanta coming to the dome next Sunday. And before you go all 'One Game at a Time' on me, think for a second. You're supposed to beat the Jets, who came in 5-8 and wi...
