Winter weather forces curfew in Tangipahoa Parish, Hancock County

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA (WVUE) - Due to the winter weather and the prediction of temperatures dropping into the low to mid-20s overnight, Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller and Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards have declared a curfew to be in effect for Tangipahoa Parish.

It will start Friday at 10 p.m. Saturday morning at 6 a.m.

Both Miller and Edwards said they apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but this measure is necessary for the safety and well-being of Tangipahoa Parish residents.

The Hancock County Sheriff in coordination with the Hancock County Board of Supervisors, and the Cities of Bay St. Louis, Diamondhead, and Waveland have issued a curfew beginning Friday at 8 p.m.. and ending Saturday at 8 a.m.
