David: Dry and cool ahead next week

A series of weak cold fronts will move across the area this week. It will remain sunny and dry all week. By next weekend, some moisture may return and bring a chance for a few showers but not until Sunday.

In the meantime, daytime highs will be in the 50s and 60s which is just a bit below normal for December. Overnight lows will be chilly with some light freezes north and west of the lake. The metro area will see lows mostly in the 40s.

    Thibodaux Police arrested a man for theft after he allowed customers to leave without paying for merchandise at an area store.  According to a report released by police, on January 20 John Coleman, who worked the store's register, allowed customers to leave without paying for $1,300 worth of merchandise.  He also did the same thing earlier that month, allowing a customer to pay only $67.06 for $729.83 worth of merchandise, according to the report.  The report al...more>>
