Five Tulane students robbed at gunpoint off-campus

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The Tulane University Police Department says five students were robbed at gunpoint Saturday night.

The incident happened off-campus near the intersection of Hillary Street and Burthe Street.

The victims told police that they were walking southbound on Hillary St. around 11:30 p.m. when they were approached by two men. One of the suspects pulled out a gun and demanded their property. The students complied and the men took their belongings and fled the scene.

Police say the suspects were last seen fleeing westbound on Burthe St. towards Adams Street and then in an unknown direction.

The first suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion, approximately 6'1" tall with shoulder length dreadlocks. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt at the time of the robbery. He is also carrying a black handgun.

The second suspect is described as a black male with dark complexion, approximately 5'11" tall with short hair. He was wearing a dark colored sweatshirt at the time of the robbery.
