LAFOURCHE PARISH, LA (WVUE) - A Raceland man was arrested Dec. 7 on multiple charges, including rape and battery, according to Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre.
Mark Kraemer, 36, is jailed on a $300,000 bond.
Just before 11 p.m. on Dec. 7, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at Kraemer's home on Bayou Folse Road, where they spoke with Kraemer and a woman he had been dating. Deputies learned that Kraemer had been violent with the victim that night and during a previous argument. Following an investigation at the scene, Kraemer was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of second-degree battery and battery of a dating partner. He was released Sunday afternoon after posting $20,000 bond.
Detectives later learned that Kraemer had recently forced the woman to have sex at gunpoint and held her at his home for several days. Investigators obtained a new warrant for Kraemer, and he was arrested about three hours after he had bonded out of jail.
Kraemer was re-booked into the Detention Center on charges of first-degree rape and false imprisonment by an offender armed with dangerous weapon.
