ALGIERS, LA (WVUE) - A 15-year-old was hit by an SUV in Algiers Thursday morning, according to a report by our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.
The teen was taken to a hospital, according to the report.
The New Orleans Police Department said in the report that the teen was hit by an SUV at the intersection of General Meyer Avenue and Ramsey Drive around 7 a.m.
It is unclear at the time if the teen was a student at one of the area schools nearby, according to the report.
NOPD spokesman Aaron Looney told NOLA.com | The Times Picayune that the teen was awake and breathing at the time he was taken to the hospital, and that he didn't have any further information about how serious the injuries were.
