(WVUE) - Welcome to Juan's World. As you know, this blog that I do is strictly an opinion piece with a few facts sprinkled in here and there.
So with that in mind, I'm of the opinion that the Saints should've been 'expected' to look past the Jets to next week's rematch with the Falcons.
How could they not look ahead to Atlanta coming to the Dome next Sunday? Before you go all "one game at a time" on me, think for a second. You're supposed to beat the Jets, who came in 5-8, and with very little to play for except a better draft position.
I know, I know, the Jets are pros too. They get paid to play too. But for the most part, they've played badly all season long, and the Saints shouldn't have expected much different in the Dome today. When you look at the game as a whole, did the Jets really play better than you expected? NO!!! A couple of Brandon Coleman fumbles and a Drew Brees pick made this game interesting. The Jets' play following those turnovers was expected.
My point is a close win doesn't mean the Saints were unprepared or overlooking the Jets. Close games happen in the NFL all the time. It's the nature of the league.
Now bring on the Falcons already. A rocking Superdome awaits those dreaded Dirty Birds.
Juan's World, Juan's World...Excellent!!!!!
