Ingram and Kamara make history with Pro Bowl selections

METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - In 2015 and 16 the Saints didn't get one player voted into the Pro Bowl. This year, a whopping six got the nod. Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara both made the cut. The first running back duo from the same team elected in 42 years.

"Yeah it's crazy. It's definitely an honor to do it. Me and Mark talked about it this offseason, just trying to be the best. We're just going to keep it moving," said running back Alvin Kamara.

"It's special just what we've been able to accomplish numbers wise. Considering we're splitting time together. I think it's a great honor. It's very humbling and gratifying. It's a testament to our teammates," said Mark Ingram. "You can't have two running backs from the same backfield go in, if you don't have a good team. If you don't have a good offensive line. If you don't have receivers contributing, blocking downfield. Tight ends, fullback, all of that."

"Coming into this season with Adrian Peterson, just the talk of how this is going to work out. Certainly, how from the outside that looked like it would affect him, and his opportunities. I just think the way that it's played out, Mark has been a true professional. He's been an incredible teammate. He's all heart and soul. We feel it as his teammates. we want to win for him, because we know how much he wants to win for us," said quarterback Drew Brees.

The Pro Bowl will be played in Orlando January 28th. Super Bowl teams don't participate in the contest.
