Police say alleged New Orleans East porch bandit stole $10,000 worth of cancer medication

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) -

A woman accused of stealing packages from porches in New Orleans East has now been accused of stealing medication from a cancer patient. 

According to the New Orleans Police Department, Delamie Mildred Stevenson was arrested on Tuesday in connection to multiple package thefts. 

Police say she was also in possession of stolen prescription medication. 

The victim told police that her prescription medication used to treat cancer was stolen from her home on Woodbine Drive last Friday. 

According to the victim, the medicine was more than $10,000. 

Police say the medicine was found in Stevenson's car.
