METAIRIE, LA (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish Sheriff's deputies say the person responsible for striking a woman in the Lakeside Shopping Center surrendered himself to authorities Friday.
Kameron Sears, 25, of Destrehan, is charged with hit-and-run driving and negligent injuring, according to JPSO Lt. Jason Rivarde.
Sears turned himself in with an attorney and made no statement, Rivarde said.
Sears was operating a coworker's vehicle and allegedly moving the SUV for the owner at the time of the incident, according to deputies.
Investigators have talked with the owner of the vehicle, and that is how authorities were able to find the driver.
Deputies say the 61-year-old woman was struck from behind in the parking garage Thursday. She sustained multiple injuries, including a fractured skull.
