Police: Kenner man dies after gun he was handling, accidentally fires

KENNER, LA (WVUE) - Kenner police are investigating a shooting where a man died after the gun he was handling, discharged.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Clemson Place in Kenner at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police a 25-year-old man was inside an apartment removing an un-holstered gun from his waistband. As he removed the gun, it fired, striking the man in the abdomen.

The man was transported to University Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
