NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that has left one person dead and three others injured.
Police say just before 5 a.m., officers received a call of an overturned vehicle on I-10 West at the Morrison Road exit.
There were four people inside of the vehicle at the time of the crash.
One of the occupants was taken to University Medical Center. The victim later died from the injuries sustained in the crash.
A second victim is listed in critical condition. The other two victims only suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Investigators closed down the I-10 westbound lanes while they investigated the crash. All of the lanes have since been reopened.
The name of the deceased victim has not been released pending an autopsy and family notification. Upon completion of the autopsy, the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the name of the victim along with the cause of death.
