NOFD fights two-alarm fire at hotel in heart of French Quarter

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) - The New Orleans Fire Department battled a two-alarm fire at a hotel in the heart of the French Quarter Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to The Biscuit Palace Hotel on 730 Dumaine Street around 1:16 am.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fire in a room on the third floor, according to the report.

Crews immediately began a search and went door-to-door to check on the guests safety.

According to the report, no injuries were reported.

A second-alarm was requested at 1:43 a.m. to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

At the time of the fire, only two of the nine guest rooms were occupied with a total of 11 guests.

The fire was placed under control by 2:20 a.m., according to the report.
