Report: Woman who fell overboard Carnival Triumph identified

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WVUE) -

The woman who fell overboard the Carnival Triumph Sunday night into The Gulf of Mexico has been identified. 

According to a report by our partners NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune,  Juwanna Brooks fell overboard near Mexico.

Her mother, Marilyn Winfrey, said in the report that this was her first cruise. 

Winfrey said the search for her daughter is continuing. 

According to a release from The Carnival Triumph, the ship was on the second day of a five-day cruise from New Orleans when Brooks fell overboard. 

Carnival Triumph operates four- and five-day cruises from New Orleans.
