NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints might not be in the Super Bowl, but a star player made sure a special fan would be there.
Lawrence Brooks is a 108-year-old World War II veteran. The Central City man was born when William Howard Taft was president, the Titanic hadn't even been built and cell phones and the internet were almost a century away.
Wednesday, he tapped into that cell technology when Saints Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee Cam Jordan used Facetime to give Brooks two tickets to the Super Bowl.
Jordan thanked the veteran for his military service.
Brooks thanked Jordan for all he does on the football field.
"I want you to keep it up, keep it up, keep it up… you hear," the excited Brooks said.
The Philadelphia Eagles will play the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4.
