Pelicans fall to Kings 114-103

(WVUE) -

Stop me if you've read this before. The Pelicans lost to one of the NBA's worst teams. This time it was the 15-win Sacramento Kings that handed New Orleans another disappointing loss, on the Pels home court, no less.

Playing their second game without injured DeMarcus Cousins, who's out for the season with a torn achillies, the Pelicans had no answers for the Kings hustle and 'want' to win. The most glaring stat of the night, on second chance points, Sacramento shut New Orleans out, 26-nothing.

And, once again, the Pels third quarter woes were still there as the Kings outscored them 29-23 in that period and that's when Sacramento took over the lead and never gave it back.

Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday led the Pelicans in scoring with 23-and-21 points respectively. But, no other Pelicans starter scored in double figures.

The Pelicans will now hit the road to Oklahoma City for a Friday night game against the Thunder.
