SLIDELL, LA (WVUE) - A series of accidents closed I-10 westbound at the Old Pearl River Bridge for several hours Wednesday.
The accident was cleared, and all lanes were opened before noon.
The accidents happened on I-10 West at Mile Marker 270. Two people were sent to area hospitals with injuries, according to the St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1.
State Police said those that were taken to the hospital did not have serious injuries.
State Police Trooper Dustin Dwight told NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune that a total of eight vehicles were involved in the accident on the bridge.
According to State Police, two 18-wheelers involved in the accident were hauling cargo of live honey bees.
