STUDIO CITY, CA (WVUE) - Former New Orleans Hornets player and NBA journeyman Rasual Butler and his wife were killed in a crash Wednesday morning in California, according to TMZ.
Butler reportedly lost control of his Range Rover around 2 a.m. in Studio City and crashed into a wall.
Butler's wife, Leah LaBelle, was an R&B singer who once appeared on American Idol.
Butler was drafted by the Miami Heat in 2002. He played in New Orleans from 2005 – 2009. He averaged 7.5 points and 2.4 rebounds over his career.
He turned 39 the day he was killed.
